The River Community Mural

If you have been inside The River Food Pantry, you probably have seen the huge mural on the wall. It was painted during one 3 hour food pantry session by over 70 people who came to use the services of The River. You know how wonderful the mural is. But before The River community was given paint and brushes, a lot of preparation, design and planning took place. I was one of the two main people involved in that and now I’d like to share some of the behind the scenes stories with you! The mural was designed by a very talented and artistic girl who had just graduated from High School. The whole mural project was coordinated by someone who had volunteered at The River since it opened (day one).
